Restricted Calorie diet is the first step of preventing the aging process.

According to old proverbs, “Overeating is root of illness and moderation is secret to health.?This truly is a wise advice. Modern nutrition is focused on the deficiency of old days when we lacked in foods. However, we now need to focus on the problems that resulted from eating too much. Excessive intake of high calorie food hastens the process of aging. In other word, our body produces large amount of toxic oxygen when we overeat, which then deteriorates our body and hastens aging process. This has been proven through an experiment on rats.

Restricted Calorie Diet resulted twice the longevity

In 1930's, Dr. McKay from Cornell University has compared the life span of two groups of rats; one group with restricted calorie diet by 40% and one group with freely fed. As a result, Dr. McKay proved that the group of restricted calorie diet lived twice longer than the freely fed group. This experiment proved that the restricted calorie diet plays a significant role of extending life span. I started comprehensive experiment to discover how this fact will affect on human body and its organ function in relates to aging. I believe that extending our life span means extending our maximum life span, not the average span of man's life.

Here, we will take a look at what minimum and maximum life span of a human represents. In measuring the average human life span, we measure one group of people from their birth to death. This number includes death of infants and unexpected accidents, which has no relation to death caused by aging. However, the maximum life span is extended by delaying the process of aging.

In other word, not all of us live until 70 because the average life span of our generation is 70. There will be people who die before they hit 70 or some people will live far past 70. Thus, we cannot say one has prevented aging and lived longer if he has prolonged his life span through medicine or surgery. However, only when you have delayed the aging process, you can say that you have prolonged your life span. When we say we want to live longer, we mean that we want to extend our maximum life span. I wanted to make sure the reader knows the clear difference before I continue.

Restricted Calorie Diet resulted much healthier physical condition

In 1973 at the medical college in University of Texas, I have finally started the experiment on extension of one's life span and prevention of aging process in our body through restricted calorie diet by using rats. Surprisingly, there was a big difference in body's aging process between the group of rats that had restricted calorie diet and the group that ate freely. For example, the group of rats that ate freely could run barely 200m a day, but the group that had restricted calorie diet ran up to 4km a day.

Even though our common sense tells us that the rats with restricted calorie diet should have less energy, the result was completely different from what we have anticipated. The rats that ate freely even looked healthier. However, not only were the rats with restricted calorie diet healthier, they had twice the life span as the ones that ate freely. These rats were not given any medicine or surgery but their body has maintained their physiological capacity and increased the immunity against diseases.

We can eliminate the oxidative stress by eating small portion.

Toxic oxygen destroys enzyme, body's immunity and hastens aging.

Preventing oxidative stress that comes from toxic oxygen is very important part of the benefits that come from restricted calorie diet. If we assume that oxidative stress is the cause of aging, suppressing oxidative stress means that we are suppressing our aging process. As we get older, we accumulate more oxidative stress from toxic oxygen. This toxic oxygen destroys enzymes that play important part in mitochondria, cell membrane, genes, and other vital parts of our body. Not only toxic oxygen can also destroy the body's immunity, we now know what kind of damage oxidative stress can do to our body. This is very important to know because this is the clearest answer for your question, which is how to prevent aging and enjoy healthy longevity.

In reality, the more food we eat, the more toxic oxygen we produce in our body. In the process of converting food to energy, the by-product of the process produces toxic oxygen in our body. As we already know, this poison oxygen has critical effect in aging and life span of our body. Therefore, we have to reduce the production of poison oxygen and try to neutralize as much of it as possible. Under such circumstances, we should not be trying to feed others more food that results in production of more poison oxygen, especially to our loved ones.
